You’ve done all the protection that you can do, you have avoided what you should avoid but your computer was still infected by a Trojan horse and it caused damage to your files and your computer started to slow down. Don’t you worry, you’re not alone. There are lots of people who experience the same problem that you have encountered. If only you could instantly remove all the Trojan horse you would’ve done that already. But the damage has been done, there’s no time to get mad and feel frustrated. You have the power to revive your computer and use it again.
First, you have to call a professional computer technician to help you. It is best that you ask for guidance of an expert than create more problems.
Second, remove your connection to the internet before starting the repair. You wouldn’t want to be infected by anything such as viruses or worms while you are doing the repair. As much as possible, remove the cable connecting you to the internet rather than just disabling your network.
Third, and the most important thing, is to back up all your files. You will be cleaning your computer, so part of the cleaning is removing all your files. You wouldn’t want to do something that would frustrate you more. Use CDs or DVDs in creating a back up of your files. Make sure to label the CDs or DVDs you have used so that you wouldn’t have a hard time when you will be putting back your files on your computer.
Fourth, Install antivirus software and scan your computer. Antivirus software’s that you can buy in the market are commonly stored in a CD driver. Or if you want, you can use your operating system’s rescue CD. When the antivirus software has been successfully installed, do a deep scan. You are probably asking why you need to scan your computer. This is to find hidden or remaining virus, worm or Trojan horse in your computer.
Fifth, is to reinstall your operating system. It is recommended that you do the fresh installation method. This is by removing your old C Drive and creates a new partition. Just insert your OS drive then restart your computer. The CD will automatically load when your computer starts up again. Then just follow the instructions you see at the screen. If you don’t want to do this on your own, it’s time to ask for help to the professional computer technician that you called.
When the Operating System has been successfully reinstalled, you can start reinstalling the drivers, reinstall all the necessary programs and restore your files in your computer. This may take most of your time, but you would feel good as soon as you finished everything. Your computer will be as good as new.
Finally, you must make sure that your computer is protected from being harmed again. Install the most powerful antivirus and keep it updated. Never stop to secure your internet browser, use firewall and keep your system clean. Also, do not open spam emails and don’t visit unsolicited web links.
